Chi Nei Tsang is a touch-healing method, a type of abdominal massage and a healing system which takes its roots from traditional Chinese medicine. It is mainly focused on using the Five Elements (the Five Forces of the Universe) and is meant to bring health through balancing these energies.
Chi Nei Tsang is translated as “working with the energy of the internal organs” or “internal organs transformation through Chi.” A sequence of deep, soft and gentle touches is applied mainly on the abdominal area what makes internal organs work properly. Chi Nei Tsang corrects energy flow of the most important systems of the body: digestive, respiratory, lymphatic, cardiovascular, nervous, fasciae tendon-muscle. It releases the blockages and stagnations in the abdomen and moves the healing energy through the body.
Our internal organs accumulate destructive energies that eventually overflow and manifest on the physical level as negative emotions and sickness. When negative emotions don’t find a way out, they store in the internal organs and go deeper into the abdominal area. As our digestion happens not only on the physical level in the intestines but also on the emotional level, our abdomen can eliminate some of the emotional wastes, but most of the time it doesn’t cope with it.
As our organs become obstructed the body’s vital functions get blocked and the flow of Chi (or Ki, energy), our life-force is constricted. The negative emotions such as fear, anger, anxiety, and worry cause the most serious damages in the body. Other causes are stress, accidents, surgery, various toxins like drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, malnutrition, etc.
Chi Nei Tsang was developed in the Taoist monasteries in ancient China in order to help monks detoxify, strengthen and purify their bodies so that they could keep energy on the high level required for the advanced spiritual practices. They discovered that each and every emotion is a manifestation of a subtle energy and that certain emotions indicate a negative energy which leads to various physical ailments. They also found strong correlation between the organs and the specific emotions. For example, our worries are stored in the stomach and spleen and cause their dysfunction.
The Taoists discovered that most diseases could be treated and healed once the underlying toxins and negative forces were eliminated from the body. The Chi Nei Tsang system was developed in order to transform and even completely remove negative energies that block the internal organs.
It is important to note that Chi Nei Tsang does not treat just symptoms as traditional medicine does. Chi Nei Tsang is a system which helps to draw awareness to the internal organs, activating the self-healing process in the body. Thus, it addresses any condition and the person as a whole, without making any difference between the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of health and well-being.
Chi Nei Tsang is especially beneficial for treating such modern problems as sleep, digestive and nervous disorders, anxiety and depression, musculoskeletal problems, auto-immune disorders, and chronic fatigue. Additionally, Chi Nei Tsang increases healing abilities of the body to recover from injuries or traumas.
Chi Nei Tsang is a system of holistic approach to health. It goes deep to the very origin of health problems, complementing Reflexology, Psychology, Reiki, massages, and other similar therapies. However, unlike most practices which use indirect methods to influence the internal organs, Chi Nei Tsang directly massages them. It is a powerful yet safe practice for energizing, strengthening, and detoxifying the internal systems.
The results of the treatment will depend on your condition. You might experience the healing effect as a change in your state during the treatment, or in the next few days and even weeks.
The Chi Nei Tsang therapist uses the healing energy of Chi (or Ki), together with specific touches and pressures in order to bring awareness to the certain organs and problems. The healing happens when awareness is present. The key to the healing is the understanding of how our systems are interconnected and work together. Chi Nei Tsang sessions include guidance in breathing, visualization, promoting taking self-responsibility for your own health. So it is the cooperation between the therapist and yourself, with your strong intention to be healed.
